What's there to know?
Mirella Christou is a multiple award-winning writer and the founder of her own freelance writing company. She's a four-time Alfred P. Sloan Prize winner, twice for her script "Seven Eternities," and twice for "Push It!". She's the recipient of a fellowship at Film Independent in its Episodic Lab, sponsored by Netflix. She's been invited to notable festivals for her writing, including the Athena Film Festival Writers Lab (2022/3), the Austin Film Festival (2022), and the North Fork TV Festival (sponsored by The Gersh Agency), among others.
Mirella comes from a career in journalism and television news producing at some of the biggest global firms, where she covered stories of national and international import. She completed her MFA at NYU's Tisch School for the Arts in Dramatic Writing.
Her work is highly topical and creatively imaginative, yet is rooted in history as well as her love of literature.

Me & My Style
A marriage of intellectual-driven (Apollonian) and intuitive-emotional (Dionysian).
Professionally, I've been involved in print and television journalism, screenplay analysis, film as a multi-hyphenate director-writer-producer-editor, and high-level ghostwriting and commercial writing for global clients. My concern for the cosmos is communicated through creative expression. We are all meaning-making machines and stories are the most potent technology for transmitting knowledge. Film's superpower is its ability to effortlessly dissolve boundaries.
My work has been inspired by many multi-faceted artists. If the Criterion Collection cornered me into its closet, I'd pick works from: Jane Campion, Richard Linklater, Charlie Kaufman, Julian Schnabel, Jacques Audiard, Wong Kar-Wai, Céline Sciamma, Stanley Kubrick, Bergman. Some of my favorite TV shows are Mad Men, Top of the Lake, Russian Doll, Black Mirror. You can often find me listening to audiobooks while walking.
